Fix numbers stored as text
Turn $1,250.00, 12% and 03/15/2026 typed as text into real numbers and dates you can sum and sort.
How it works
Your file is opened in an isolated sandbox with no internet access, processed, and the sandbox is destroyed. Nothing is stored, and no account is needed.
It uses the same reader as the full product, which is built for the spreadsheets people actually have: headers that are not on row 1, merged cells, totals rows pasted at the bottom, dates in two formats, and numbers stored as text. Everything it changes is listed back to you.
Common questions
Why won't Excel add up my numbers?
Because they are stored as text — usually from an export or a copy-paste that kept the dollar sign, the thousands comma or a trailing space. Excel shows them like numbers but SUM skips them. This tool converts the whole column to real numbers.
Which columns does it change?
Only columns where most filled cells read as a number or a date. Order numbers, ZIP codes, phone numbers and other identifiers made of digits are recognised and left as text, so leading zeros are not lost.
What happens to a cell it cannot read, like 'N/A'?
It becomes blank rather than zero, so it cannot quietly lower a total — and the column is listed back to you with an example of what was converted.
Does it handle 1.250,00 as well as 1,250.00?
Yes. The separator is decided per column from the values themselves, so a column written with full stops for thousands is read correctly instead of being off by a factor of a thousand.
