Terms of Service
Last updated 20 August 2026
You keep ownership of your data. We provide a tool that analyses it, and you check the numbers before you rely on them. Plans are monthly and you can cancel any time — you keep what you paid for until the period ends.
1. The agreement
These terms apply when you use DataMimi. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are using DataMimi for an employer, you confirm you may accept these terms on their behalf.
2. What the service does
DataMimi reads spreadsheets, answers questions about them in plain language, and produces documents from the answers — slide decks, written reports, cleaned data exports and email drafts. Answers are produced by AI models writing and running analysis code.
3. Your data stays yours
You keep all rights to the files you upload and to everything produced from them. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your files, process them to answer your questions, and produce the documents you ask for.
We do not use your data to train AI models, and our providers are contractually bound not to either.
4. Accuracy, and what you must check
This is the most important clause on this page, so it is written plainly.
DataMimi produces analysis by having an AI model write code. It shows you what it computed, which rows it excluded and why, and the exact code it ran — so that you can check it. It is a tool for doing analysis faster, not a replacement for reviewing the result.
Check any figure before you rely on it for a financial, legal, employment or business decision. We do not accept liability for decisions made on unchecked output. If a number matters, verify it — the method and the underlying data are shown for exactly that purpose.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use DataMimi to:
- upload data you do not have the right to process;
- attempt to break out of the analysis sandbox, reach other customers' data, or probe our infrastructure;
- resell the service, or use it to build a competing product;
- generate content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- circumvent usage limits — including by creating multiple accounts to extend free allowances or claim referral rewards.
We may suspend an account that does any of these. Where the situation allows it, we will tell you first.
6. Accounts
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in secure. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
A Team plan covers a stated number of people. Everyone in a workspace can see the datasets and saved reports shared into it — treat a shared workspace as shared with everyone in it.
7. Plans, credits and payment
Plans are billed monthly in advance through Paddle, who act as merchant of record and are the seller for the transaction. Taxes are handled by Paddle according to where you are.
Each plan includes a monthly allowance of credits. A credit is a unit of processing — roughly one cent of the model and compute time an analysis consumes. Larger questions cost more, and you are shown an estimate before anything expensive runs.
- Every feature is available on every plan, including the free one. Plans differ only in how many credits they include and how many people they cover.
- Monthly credits do not roll over indefinitely; rollover, where a plan has it, is stated on the pricing page.
- Credit packs you buy separately do not expire.
- A failed analysis is never charged.
8. Cancelling
Cancel at any time from Settings. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for — cancelling is not a downgrade that takes effect immediately. See the Refund Policy for refunds.
9. Availability
We aim to keep DataMimi available and working, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We depend on third-party providers, and AI models occasionally fail to answer a question. Where a run fails, you are not charged for it.
10. Changes to the service
We will keep improving DataMimi, which sometimes means changing how things work. If we remove something you rely on or materially reduce what a plan includes, we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund for the remainder of the period.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost data, or for decisions made on output you did not check.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Ending the agreement
You may close your account at any time. We may close yours if you breach these terms, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice and refund any period you have paid for and not used.
13. Changes to these terms
We will notify you by email before any material change takes effect. Continuing to use DataMimi after that means accepting the new terms.
