Find duplicates in Excel
Spot repeated rows across sheets and files, with the originals kept.
How it works
Your file is opened in an isolated sandbox with no internet access, processed, and the sandbox is destroyed. Nothing is stored, and no account is needed.
It uses the same reader as the full product, which is built for the spreadsheets people actually have: headers that are not on row 1, merged cells, totals rows pasted at the bottom, dates in two formats, and numbers stored as text. Everything it changes is listed back to you.
Common questions
Does it compare whole rows or single columns?
Whole rows by default, which is the safe answer — two customers can share a name without being the same record. You get the repeated rows listed with how many times each appeared.
Can it find duplicates across two different files?
Yes. Upload both and the comparison runs across all of them together, which is the usual case: this month's export against last month's.
Does it delete anything?
No. You get two things: a list of what was repeated, and a de-duplicated copy. The original is untouched, so nothing is lost if the match was wrong.
Will it treat 'ACME Ltd' and 'acme ltd' as the same?
Yes for case and surrounding spaces, which are the differences that come from typing rather than from meaning. Genuinely different spellings are left alone rather than guessed at.
