Common questions
What file formats does the financial report analyzer accept?
It reads Excel files (.xlsx, .xls) and CSV exports from QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage, and other accounting systems. The file must contain account names or codes and at least one period of financial data.
Does it calculate financial ratios automatically?
Yes. It calculates current ratio, quick ratio, debt-to-equity, gross margin, operating margin, net margin, return on assets, and return on equity when the necessary accounts are present in the export. You do not write formulas.
Can I compare multiple periods or multiple files?
Yes. Upload a single file with multiple period columns, or upload separate monthly exports and the analyzer aligns accounts by name or code and calculates period-over-period changes and trends.
What does it cost?
You can try it free without an account, and the free plan includes credits every month. Paid plans add more credits and seats; every feature is on every plan. See the pricing page for current prices.
Does it work with custom chart of accounts?
Yes. It identifies revenue, expense, asset, liability, and equity accounts by their position and typical naming patterns in your export. If your chart of accounts uses non-standard names, you map them once and the tool remembers the mapping for future uploads.

DataMimi reads the file you actually have — merged cells, headers below row one, totals pasted at the bottom — and shows which rows and columns every number came from.
